Recycol
In situ pavement recycling
Recycol is the in situ recycling solution. It breathes a new lease of life into pavements that are damaged or at the end of their life cycle.
Existing materials are drilled up, mixed and homogenized with a binder before being laid down again and compacted using specific equipment.
Recycol is a sustainable solution, offering road assets a second lease of life whilst also conserving non-renewable natural resources.
In order to ensure performance levels on a par with those obtained with a traditional reinforcement solution, preliminary studies are carried out on the section of pavement in question to determine the treatment parameters.
Recycol is suitable for the surfacing and sub-grade courses of all pavement types up to T1 traffic.
Depending on the goals of the project as well as the context (as revealed by preliminary analyses of the existing pavement: thickness of the courses already in place, nature and characteristics of the materials), in situ recycling can be done.
The range of Recycol
- Recycol E
In-situ recycling with asphalt emulsion.
- Recycol H
In-place recycling with hydraulic binder
- Recycol M
In-situ recycling with mixed binder (asphalt emulsion and hydraulic binder)
- Recycol F
In-place recycling with foamed bitumen
The advantages of Recycol
- Conserves mineral resources
- Reducing energy consumption linked to transport and manufacturing
- Reduces job site traffic
- Reduces disruption caused to local residents and users as it is quick to lay down and re-open to traffic
